The 24th annual Jet to Jetty walk, run and bicycle ride benefiting the Airport Marina Counseling Service is scheduled Saturday, August 23rd, at Dockweil- er State Beach in Playa del Rey.

Included in the event are a 10K run, a 5K walk/run, ten- or 20-mile family bike rides, a kids’ 1K “fun run” with warmup, children’s activities, team competition, booths and prizes.

The Drollinger Family Charitable Foundation and the Parking Spot are the major sponsors of the event.

Proceeds will benefit the Airport Marina Counseling Service, a nonprofit, community-based clinic that has provided mental health services in the Westchester community since 1961. Information on the clinic, www.airport or (310) 670-1410.

The gates at Dockweiler Beach are scheduled to open at 6:30 a.m. for registration and packet pickup. The family bike ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K walk/run kicking off at 8 a.m., the 10K run at 8:30 a.m., and the 1k kids’ fun run at 9:30 a.m.

The 5K and 10K events start on Vista del Mar, with the finish line at the beach parking lot at the end of Imperial Highway.

The event also offers a drawing for a Hawaiian vacation to Maui, with an eight-day/seven-night stay at Maui’s Royal Lahaina Resort, including a $500 hotel restaurant credit and roundtrip airfare, made possible by a gift from the William H. Hannon Foundation.

Event fees are $30 for the 5K walk/run and the 10K run; $15 per bike for the family bike ride; and $10 for children in the 1K kids fun run.
