Title to 62 acres in what was earlier called Playa Vista Parcel C — east of Lincoln Boulevard and north of Ballona Creek — was formally transferred to the California Department of Fish and Game by state controller Steve Westly Tuesday, July 20th.

The parcel was originally scheduled to be developed as part of the Playa Vista project.

The site first transferred to the state as part of the inheritance settlement of the late Howard Hughes. The state held the parcel in trust for many years.
