Steve Soboroff, president of Playa Vista, will be honored Sunday, October 8th, by the Special Olympics of Southern California for his community and volunteer involvement.
Soboroff will be honored at the annual Pier del Sol event at the Santa Monica Pier, 200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica.
General admission tickets are $45 and include unlimited rides, eight game booth tickets and a meal coupon for Pacific Park’s Food Plaza.
VIP tickets are $150 for individual tickets and $500 for a package of five VIP tickets.
California First Lady Maria Shriver will serve as honorary chair of the event.
“Steve embodies the spirit of community involvement and we are proud to honor him at this year’s Pier del Sol,” said Bill Shumard, president and chief executive officer of the Southern California Special Olympics.
“Steve is committed to improving the lives of others through business and volunteerism and is involved in civic and youth organizations as a mentor and friend.”
In Southern California, more than 10,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities participate in year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports.
Special Olympics programs are free to athletes and their families.
