One suspect was arrested and two suspects remain at large in a carjacking that began in Venice and ended with a pursuit into Inglewood late Oct. 14, police said.
The incident began at about 10:30 p.m. at Lincoln Boulevard and Jefferson Way, where suspects pulled up in a vehicle in front of a man who had parked his rented Buick SUV, Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Det. Steven Katz said.
Two armed suspects, described as black men in their early 20s, allegedly demanded the victim’s vehicle, struck him in the face with a handgun and drove away in his vehicle, Katz said. A third suspect followed in a car behind the stolen vehicle, he said.
The victim, who sustained minor injuries, flagged a passing Culver City police car and a pursuit ensued. Police located the stolen vehicle on the Marina Freeway and after a pursuit into Inglewood, the stolen car crashed, Katz said.
The suspects got out of the cars and one was taken into custody, Katz said. A perimeter was set up but two other suspects were not apprehended, police said.
