Santa Monica police have arrested three men in connection with an attempted homicide outside of a party early Saturday, February 13th.

Police were called at 1:33 a.m. to 17th Street and Colorado Avenue regarding a fight in progress near where a “Hip-Hop” party was being held.

Officers saw a suspect approach a vehicle and allegedly fire several shots before fleeing the location, Sgt. Jay Trisler said. As the officers attempted to check on the vehicle occupants, the vehicle drove away, but police located the car a short distance away.

None of the six people who were in the vehicle were injured, he said.

Officers then saw the alleged shooter, who was in a vehicle that was attempting to leave a parking lot. As the vehicle approached the officers, the suspect and a passenger got out of the vehicle and surrendered, but the driver continued to drive and fled the area, Trisler said.

Police located the vehicle a short distance away and arrested the driver.

The three suspects, identified as Alex Martin, 19, of Compton, Roderick Goldman, 18, of Corona, and Donte Jackson, 19, of Compton, were each arrested and booked for conspiracy and attempted homicide, Trisler said. Their bail was set at $500,000.
