A male suspect accused of assaulting a police officer was arrested Thursday afternoon after leading police on a chase through Marina del Rey that eventually ended in Westchester.

The chase began at Venice Boulevard and Centinela Avenue in Mar Vista at around 3:35 p.m., said Sgt. Robin Richards of the LAPD’s Pacific Division. The suspect then drove west, crossing over into Marina del Rey, where he passed the sheriff’s station on Fiji Way before heading south.

“The suspect was taken into custody at 83rd Street and Lincoln [Boulevard] just before 4 p.m.,” Richards said.

The name and age of the suspect were not immediately available.
