Santa Monica police are looking for a burglary suspect who broke into a home in the 1100 block of Pine Street at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 8th.

A resident told police that she heard a knock at the front door and opened the door to find a man at the door.

The woman said she asked the man at the front door a question and then closed the door.

She said she looked out of her front window and saw the man walking eastbound on Pine Street.

The woman continued watching television and 30 minutes later walked into her bedroom and realized she had been burglarized.

Police said that a preliminary investigation indicated that the man allegedly cut the woman’s window screen and entered the residence.

“Once the suspect was inside, he entered the bedroom and removed some jewelry and some coins,” police alleged, adding that “the victim did not see anyone inside her residence during the incident.”

Police describe the suspect as “possibly Armenian,” 35 years old, medium weight, fair complexion, dark brown hair — “spiky” on the top and cut short on the sides — having several keys on a round clip on his right pant leg and wearing a dark T-shirt.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Santa Monica Detective Mike Federico at (310) 458-8432.
