Santa Monica police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a residential robbery on 22nd Street in the Pico Neighborhood of Santa Monica early Friday, July 18th.
Police were called at 5:19 a.m. to a residence in the 2300 block of 22nd Street, near Pearl Street, regarding a report of a residential robbery that had occurred at about 3:30 a.m., Santa Monica police Sgt. Renaldi Thruston said.
Officers said an elderly woman told them that she awoke to the sound of an intruder who was inside her residence, Thruston said. The suspect allegedly rummaged through the home and stole several of the woman’s jewelry items. The woman was not injured during the incident.
Detectives have not yet determined how the suspect entered the residence.
The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, of medium height and thin build, wearing dark clothing with a dark mask covering his face, Thruston said. No weapon was seen. The case investigation is ongoing.
