Santa Monica police were called to the 700 block of 21st Street at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 19th, regarding a report of an armed carjacking that had just occurred.

While officers were going to the location, they saw in the 1400 block of 20th Street the vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit occurred.

The pursuit ended when the suspects’ vehicle struck a curb in the 1700 block of 14th Street.

After the accident, the suspects fled on foot.

Police searched the area, but the suspects were not located.

The victim told police that he saw the suspects approach him as he was entering his vehicle.

One of the suspects displayed a handgun and took the victim’s wallet, while the second suspect drove off in the victim’s vehicle.

The first suspect is described as an African-American man, in his mid 20s, five-feet-11 to six feet, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, having black hair, with a dark complexion, wearing a black Kangol hat, dark jacket, white T-shirt and dark pants.

The second suspect is described as an African-American man, 20 to 30 years old, five-feet-ten, weighing 200 to 210 pounds, having black Afro hair style, having a dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and light-colored shoes.
