The Santa Monica Police Department plans to conduct a sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint on Main Street in Santa Monica Saturday, August 23rd.
Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department will be contacting drivers in the 2600 block of Main Street, near Ocean Park Boulevard, to confirm their sobriety and driver’s license status.
This is the sixth of several checkpoints to be conducted over a 12-month period. The Santa Monica Police Department reminds drivers to have a designated driver or call a taxi cab if they plan on drinking.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
