The musical about marijuana is based on the book by Diane Shinozaki, who is also the producer. The story begins with an assemblage of Founding Fathers (John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and John Hancock) before turning the attention over to people of the present day.
In the comedy, Sweetie, the heroine, has some brownies to take to her church gathering. Razz, her boyfriend, and his friend, Sid, have a plate of their own “enhanced” brownies that they plan to take to the Pot Fest in the park, but somehow the plates get switched.
The reverend and his church members march to the park to protest the presence of the “potheads” at the Pot Fest. But some people eat certain brownies not intended for them and surprises ensue.
The cast of Pot! The Musical includes Dalit Berkowitz, Aryiel Hartman, Aaron Lyons, Ben Parks, Peter Schuyler, Mandi Smith, Kit Tyler and Clarke Wolfe.
