The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors has scheduled a special meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th at the Burton Chace Park community building, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey, to discuss a potential project on Parcels 49 and 77.

The public is welcome to attend and present ideas on how to integrate the project with a revitalized Chace Park, utilizing both areas as a focal point for recreating, living, boating and shopping in Marina del Rey and the surrounding areas.

The development parameters for Parcels 49 and 77 range between 117,000 and 160,000 square feet of building area that may include, in addition to a water-oriented commercial or mixed-use component, up to 255 residential units, a 26,000-square foot Department of Beaches and Harbors Administration Building, and a 2,000-square foot Visitors’ Center, a department spokesperson said.

The project must also maintain mast-up storage and boat/trailer parking spaces on Parcel 49, a boat launch ramp on site, and a dock for storage and launching of small personal watercraft such as dinghies and jet skis.
