The Westchester Democratic Club will host Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Westchester) at its annual election meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at the Fire Station No. 5 Community Room in Westchester.

The congresswoman will touch on a variety of issues, such as the economy and unemployment, political challenges in Washington, the 2012 elections and local issues. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Waters was elected in November 2010 to her 11th term in the House of Representatives for the 35th District. She represents Westchester and Playa del Rey as well as a large part of South Central Los Angeles.

The congresswoman is a member of the House Committee on Financial Services and the chairwoman of its Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity, the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, and the Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy, Trade and Technology.
