Max Kerstein, a longtime reserve police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Area Community Police Station, was recognized for his many years of outstanding service at the LAPD Pacific Division Boosters meeting Thursday, January 3rd.
Capt. Joseph Hiltner of the Pacific Station presented Kerstein with a certificate of outstanding service from the office of Councilman Bill Rosendahl at the boosters meeting, and the veteran reserve officer also received a commendation from Mary Richert, the president of the LAPD Pacific Division Boosters Association.
A reserve officer for 29 years, Kerstein is said to have logged more than 20,000 hours running criminal background checks at Pacific Division.
Kerstein has been named reserve officer of the year at both the Wilshire and Pacific Division Stations. In 2007, he was named reserve officer of the year in the State of California.
