The Reflections Art Program at Roosevelt Elementary School in Santa Monica will be displaying 400 artworks submitted by nearly half of the student body during an art show in the school auditorium through Friday, November 13th.

School officials say that this is a record level of participation in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) art program that includes a week of lunchtime art workshops, an art show, and a celebration and ice cream party.

Reflections is a national PTA program that provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art.

This year’s theme is “Beauty IsÖ” and Roosevelt students entered works in all six categories — visual arts, musical composition, photography, dance choreography, film/video production and literature.

Roosevelt Elementary is at 801 Montana Ave., Santa Monica.
