Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl has scheduled a town hall forum in Venice Thursday, Sept. 23 to discuss solutions to homelessness in his 11th District.
The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westminster Avenue Elementary School, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
The community meeting will include a series of presentations on ongoing and new efforts to prevent people from living on the streets or in their vehicles. Among the initiatives included are law enforcement strategies, parking enforcement and the so called “Streets to Homes” program.
Rosendahl will moderate the session, which will include questions from the audience to representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department, the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, which will manage the “Streets to Homes” program. The program is designed to provide safe overnight parking places throughout the district and case management to eligible vehicle dwellers who follow certain regulations.
