More than 4,000 runners and spectators are expected to attend the Third Annual Saint John’s Santa Monica 5000 five-and-ten-kilometer race benefiting the Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica Sunday, October 19th.
The race will start at Ocean Park Boulevard and Barnard Way in Santa Monica and take runners along the waterfront on Ocean Avenue. The five-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. and the ten-kilometer race will start at 8 a.m.
A post-event party and Health and Fitness Expo will follow the race at the Santa Monica Pier, at the ocean end of Colorado Avenue.
The Santa Monica 5000 race is managed and promoted by Generic Events, whose mission is to build community and provide athletic challenges for all ranges of physical ability. Founded by three athletes, Generic Events also produces the Playa del Run and Aquathlon series, as well as the Xterra Trail Run SoCal Series, the Pasadena Triathlon and the Bali International Triathlon.
