The Santa Monica Emblem Club hosted the California-Nevada-Hawaii State Association of Emblem Clubs and its president Bonnie Lewis at the Santa Monica Elks Lodge on Wednesday, August 19th.

Raedean Kiesz, exalted ruler of the Santa Monica Elks, welcomed the attendees, who included representatives of 22 emblem clubs.

During the event, Eva Archuleta, president of the Santa Monica Emblem Club, spoke of the club’s activities, such as scholarships, drug awareness, Fisher House, flowers for the patients at the Veterans Administration Hospital and a barbecue for the patients.

Lewis commended the club for its numerous community activities and Kiesz also thanked club members for the support they give to the Elks, which included a contribution to the Elks Major Project.

The Major Project provides funds for a physical therapist who visits handicapped children in their homes and teaches parents and siblings how to administer the therapy that the child needs, an Elks spokesman said.
