Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier has received the Travel and Tourism Marketing Association’s 2011 Landmark Award.
The Landmark Award, which acknowledges the landmark as a vital and dynamic example of historically and culturally significant places that play an important role in Southern California tourism, was presented to Pacific Park during a ceremony in Santa Monica Oct. 6.
Under the direction of CEO Mary Ann Powell and Jeff Klocke, director of marketing and sales, has made its mark on the Santa Monica Pier as one of the West Coast’s premier oceanfront family amusement parks, according to the tourism association.
The two-acre park features rides and games, special attractions, fun fare and specialty retail shops. Since the opening of Pacific Park on May 25, 1996, the pier has attracted nearly four million visitors each year.
