A Halloween Hullabaloo, a magical, musical fairytale journey exploring Halloween through the ages, will be performed at 12:30 and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and 30 at the Santa Monica Playhouse, 1211 Fourth St., Santa Monica.

Presented by the Santa Monica Playhouse Family Theatre Musical Matinee Series, the interactive musical comedy will take the audience up and down Halloween memory lane to discover where the trick-or-treat event celebrated today with candies and costumes, ghosts and goblins came from, a playhouse spokesperson said.

Visitors are encouraged to come in costume to receive two-for-one tickets for an upcoming Family Theatre production.

Written by Evelyn Rudie with Serena Dolinsky, the show features original songs that include finger-snapping, toe-tapping melodies. The cast features Actors’ Repertory Theatre members Celeste Akiki, Melissa Gentry and Nima Ghassemian.

A Halloween Hullabaloo is directed by Arthur R. Tompkins.

Tickets are $10.50 for kids 12 and under and $12.50 for adults. Admission includes complimentary face painting offered half-an-hour before every show.
