Santa Monica police are on the lookout for suspects in connection with a series of arson-related incidents within two blocks of each other earlier this month.
The six incidents, which include arsons/suspicious fires to parked vehicles, a trash bin, and shrubbery, occurred during a period of less than two weeks, police said.
The city’s Arson Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance with the investigation. Police believe the cases are related but currently do not have any description of suspects, Sgt. Jay Trisler said.
The series began with a vehicle fire at 3:11 p.m. February 12th at 222 Washington Ave. Three arson/suspicious fire incidents to a trash bin and two parked vehicles then occurred in the 1000 block of Third Street February 13th and 14th, police said.
The incidents continued when two fires to shrubbery were reported at 1025 Second St., February 19th and 22nd.
Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to contact Det. Heric at (310) 458-8410, Sgt. Trisler at (310) 458-8471, or the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8495.
