Santa Monica police are asking for the public’s help in locating an eight-year-old boy and his mother who is suspected of abducting him.
The two have not been seen since the boy, Jounel Armon Taylor, spent the night with his biological mother, Adriana Joriel Johns, at an unknown residence March 6, police said.
Johns was supposed to take her son to school in the morning, but instead, she allegedly fled with the boy to an unknown location, Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis said. Police say Johns lost custody of her son in December to her mother and has stopped communicating with her mother.
Taylor is described as an 8-year-old African American boy, 4 feet, 100 pounds, with a black-medium afro and brown eyes, police said.
Johns is described as an African American woman, 27, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds, medium brown hair and brown eyes. She is not known to possess a vehicle and her whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Taylor or Johns is asked to contact Det. Trapnell at (310) 458-2256, Sgt. Thruston at (310) 458-8414 or the Santa Monica Police Department (24 hours) at (310) 458-8495.
