The Fourth Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl, covering 25 bars and restaurants throughout the city, will take place starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Westside Food Bank, which distributes food to local agencies with food assistance programs and works to reduce food waste on the Westside.
Participating locations will offer drink and food specials as part of the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl festivities.
Last year, over 5,000 participants celebrated the season at the popular event by raising enough money for over 70,000 meals through the Westside Food Bank, said event organizers.
“We always look forward to the return of the SANTA Monica pub crawl,” said Laurel Rosen, president and CEO of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce. “This event has quickly become one of the busiest nights of the year for our local businesses and proceeds benefit a great cause for families during the holidays.”
The crawl includes bars on Wilshire Boulevard, Fourth Street, Broadway, Main Street, the Santa Monica Pier and the Third Street Promenade.
Crawlers are encouraged to dress in Santa/holiday attire, and are asked to purchase a special pub crawl wristband that gives them access to the drink and food specials at each official location and entrance to the official after-party, automatically entering them into a raffle to win dozens of prizes from local businesses.
Participants are encouraged to drop off canned food items throughout December at the Westside Food Bank (1710 22nd St., Santa Monica) where they can collect wristbands in advance.
Organizers say the community event encourages responsible drinking by participants. The Big Blue Bus will be selling unlimited bus passes for $4 on the pub crawl website.
