Pacific Street Sunday morning

A woman was shot in the right arm in the 800 block of Pacific Street at around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, September 19th, when an assailant in a vehicle approached her, attempted to talk with her, pointed a handgun at her and opened fire when the woman began running.

Santa Monica Police officers, who responded to the scene, spoke with the victim who said that she turned away from the assailant and began running when she saw a handgun pointed in her direction.

The woman heard a loud “pop” and realized that she had been shot, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was listed in stable condition Saturday, September 19th.

The assailant is described as a white male, possibly European, in his late 20s to early 30s, with light brown wavy hair, one-and-one-half to two-inches in length, clean shaven with a large mouth and a slight accent.

The assailant was wearing a T-shirt, the woman said.

The assailant’s vehicle is described as a mid-90s Toyota, possibly a Camry sedan, with power windows and minor dents and scratches to the passenger side of the car.
