“Santa Claus is Coming to Town” is the theme for the 46th annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade, scheduled Saturday, December 13th, with fireworks kicking off the parade at 5:55 p.m. Santa himself will be the parade grand marshal.

During the week leading up to the parade, Santa sightings are expected throughout local communities. With the help of Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion 4, the first Santa sighting is expected to be on Windward Circle in Venice, in front of Danny’s Deli, 23 Windward Ave., at 6 p.m. Monday, December 8th.ÝSanta will be available for photos while his helpers pass out candy canes.

Santa and the Venice firefighters will make five additional stops through the following Venice neighborhoods with his trademark “Ho-Ho-Ho”: Abbot Kinney Boulevard, California Avenue, Electric Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Brooks Avenue, and ending at Fire Station 63, 1930 Shell Ave. Each stop will last approximately 15 minutes.

Santa sightings are also scheduled in Westchester from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10th, beginning on Osage Avenue, continuing to Wiley Post Avenue, 83rd Street andÝthe Playa del Rey bluffs, and ending at Playa Vista’s Concert Park.

The final local Santa sightings are scheduled in Mar Vista from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 12th, beginning at Beethoven Elementary School, 3711ÝBeethoven Ave.; and then continuing east on Victoria Avenue; north on Wade Street; west on Marco Place; and through “The Woods.”

Santa also plans to be available for photos on the day of the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade, from 3 to 4 p.m. December 13th, at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way.
