Rita Walsh, a Playa del Rey resident for nearly 60 years, died at her Playa del Rey home Tuesday, February 15th. She was 83.
She was a charter member of the Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Playa del Rey Woman’s Club, the Ladies of the Westchester Elks and many other local civic organizations.
Walsh, a retired South Bay Realtor, had owned and operated Kai Loa Gift Shop in the Pieces O’ Eight Restaurant, the first restaurant to open in Marina del Rey.
Walsh is survived by three daughters, Sheila Walsh of Las Vegas, Mary Bingham and Eileen Walsh; a son, Timothy Walsh of Playa del Rey; and four grandchildren.
Services for Walsh are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, February 26th, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Westchester.
A public memorial service at the Westchester Elks Lodge in Playa del Rey will follow.
