for “Rocky” Ferrandino

Rocco “Rocky” Ferrandino, a Del Rey resident, passed away of heart failure on his 85th birthday, Sunday, September 12th.

A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25th, at the Visitation Catholic Church, 6561 W. 88th St., Westchester.

Ferrandino earlier owned the Marina Shell gasoline station at Lincoln Boulevard and Fiji Way in the Marina area since 1972.

For the past ten years, the service station has been owned by his son, Wayne.

“Rocky” Ferrandino also operated a Shell gasoline station at Westwood and Olympic Boulevards in the Westwood area for 25 years.

He was born and raised in Chicago but moved his family to California in 1956.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Genevieve, two sons, Wayne and Richard and his grandsons, Rocky, 15, and Nick, 14.
