Juan Antonio “Tony” Barrera, 80, of Marina del Rey, passed away at his home Sunday, October 23rd, after a four-year struggle with medical problems.

A memorial service and viewing will be held Thursday, October 27th, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 940 Coeur d’Alene Ave, Venice.

The memorial service will be from 2 to 6 p.m., with a rosary at 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 28th, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave, Culver City.

Barrera was born May 10th, 1925.

He was an engineer and had been a California resident since 1955. He lived in Venice and Marina del Rey.

He originally emigrated from Panama and became a U. S. naturalized citizen in 1990.

He is survived by his wife Josefina and five children Rosa, Lourdes, Isaac, Zophia, and “Nick” Juan Jose.
