Services have been planned for Albert “Big Al” Basbous, father of the late Westchester community leader and honorary mayor, Pierre Basbous.

Albert Basbous died Christmas Eve. He was 86.

He was born in Lebanon and came to the United States about 1943.

He was employed for 35 years with Douglas Aircraft Company.

Most recently, he was active as an actor, appearing as an extra and working in commercial filming.

He also owned and operated a restaurant for a brief period with his son Pierre in Westchester.

He was preceeded in death by his wife and their three sons.

A funeral mass is planned at 10 a.m. Friday, December 30th, at Visitation Catholic Church, 6561 W. 88th St., Westchester, (310) 216-1145.
