Joe Young, chair of the Airport-Marina group of the Sierra Club, will present the discussion “Great African Adventures” at the group’s meeting scheduled at 7:45 p.m. Monday, September 21st in the Burton Chace Park community room, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.

The presentation will include a PowerPoint program and discussion of Young’s recent three-week trip to Kenya and Tanzania, including a climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Young will also speak about a safari to the Serengeti wildlife preserve and a safari through the Ngorongoro Crater.

Throughout his years of membership in the Angeles chapter, Young has been active in the Hundred Peaks, Griffith Park, and other sections, been involved with several committees and task forces and written newsletters.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for the meeting. The program will follow Sierra Club news and announcements. Refreshments will be provided.
