The West Los Angeles Democratic Club is hosting a forum on universal single-payer healthcare from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27th at the Venice Center for Peace with Justice and the Arts, 2210 Lincoln Blvd., Venice. Street and lot parking is available.

The forum will address how single-payer healthcare is considered a viable solution to help fix the healthcare system, and how a public plan option this year can be the bridge this country needs to achieve a single-payer plan in the near future, according to the West Los Angeles Democratic Club.

Among the scheduled forum speakers are Dr. Jo Olson, an assistant professor of pediatrics at USC with a full time practice in Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; Don Schroeder, a writer, producer and director who is the co-founder of the San Fernando Valley chapter of Health Care for All California; and Dr. Susie Baldwin, a board-certified preventive medicine/public health physician.
