The sixth annual Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Guitar Festival featuring guitarists in concert will be held in the Murphy Recital Hall Friday through Sunday, March 19th through 21st.

A performance by Rafael Aguirre Minarro kicks off the festival at 8 p.m. March 19th.

The March 20th daytime concert will showcase approximately 100 young guitar players in solo, small ensemble and guitar orchestra settings.—Internationally renowned performer Adam Holzman will play the evening concert at 8 p.m.

Marcus Tardelli, a solo guitarist from Brazil, will conclude the weekend of guitar with a performance from 2 to 3 p.m. March 21st.

Other activities scheduled include a master class with Holzman from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 21st for a $5 fee, a workshop on guitar techniques with Aguirre from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. March 20th for a $5 fee, and a free flamenco workshop with Wolf from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 20th. A vendor and luthier fair will be held throughout the weekend.

Though individual tickets may be available for some events, it is recommended buying tickets in advance to guarantee seating. Tickets for individual concerts are $25, or $15 for students. A festival pass that is good for all events is $65, or $45 for students with ID.
