An overnight “Sleep Out for the Unhoused/Homeless” will take place on the lawn outside Beyond Baroque in Venice, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.

The second annual sleep out is intended to promote community unity and explore solutions to homelessness, organizers said.

The event is being coordinated by Occupy Venice in solidarity with the local unhoused/homeless population.

The overnight sleep out will feature speakers, music, an art auction, comedy, and spoken word by the unhoused/homeless and area advocates. A screening of the film “Rubber Tramps,” featuring Venice residents, is scheduled at 8:30 p.m.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted to offset expenses.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own, tarps, tents and sleeping gear.

Beyond Baroque is at 681 Venice Blvd. in Venice.
