Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children is scheduled to begin volunteer training Tuesday, September 19th.

The training will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Thursday, November 16th.

The training is mandatory for anyone who would like to volunteer at Sojourn.

Since 1977, Sojourn has been a sanctuary for women and children, providing safety and shelter to victims of domestic violence.

Sojourn works to empower women and children to regain their dignity and make choices to stop the cycle of violence in families, Sojourn officials say.

Upon completion of the training, volunteers staff a 24-hour hotline, facilitate support groups for women, work in the children’s program and provide administrative assistance.
