The Panthers girls basketball team at St. Anastasia School in Westchester captured the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Pac10 Championship to finish the regular season with an undefeated record of 19-0.

The Panthers defeated St. Bernadette School of Baldwin Hills 37-25 to win the Pac10 title after facing two other previously undefeated teams on the way.

In the first game against the defending CYO champion, St. Jerome School of Westchester, the Panthers only allowed three points in the first half and won convincingly 26-12. Kaylee Hage finished with two three-pointers and Alex Alcala had one in the game.

In the championship game, the Panthers were led by Michaela McDermott, who grabbed 12 rebounds, and Brooke Nuslien, who finished with seven. Kathleen Harris led the scorers with 13 points and Lindsey Smith contributed eight points, ten rebounds and five blocked shots.

The CYO 64-team playoffs are scheduled to begin Saturday, February 14th, with the championship game scheduled at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles Monday, February 23rd.
