The Panthers girls varsity basketball team of St. Anastasia School in Westchester has captured the Eighth Annual IHOP Basketball Tournament Championship.

The Panthers finished the tournament undefeated with five consecutive victories and won the championship after defeating Our Lady of Lourdes School of Los Angeles 51-24.

The St. Anastasia team was led by three All-Tournament players, Kaylee Hage, Alexandra Alcala and Kathleen Harris.

Hage scored 16 points in the championship, three-point specialist Alcala made nine three-pointers in the tournament and Harris, who received the Most Valuable Player Award in the tournament, finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game.

Michaela McDermott also grabbed 22 rebounds in the championship game.

The other teams competing in the tournament included Culver City Middle School, Notre Dame, St. Monica, St. Jerome, Century Charter, St. Martin de Tours, Immaculate Heart, American Martyrs and St. Augustine.

The Panthers are hoping to carry on the success of previous tournament winners who have gone on to the Final Four or won the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Championship.
