St. Jerome School in Westchester has received a charitable donation of $50,000 from the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation for technology programs for current and future students.
The school’s new principal, Suzanne Jones, says that the funds will be used to help bring “21st century learning” into St. Jerome classrooms.
The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation is dedicated to raising and distributing funds to youth service and enrichment programs. It was established in May 2001 by actor Wahlberg, a lifelong member and advocate of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
St. Jerome School is a Catholic parish elementary school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The Westchester school will hold an open house event for parents to meet teachers from grades Pre-K through eighth and visit the classrooms from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. A second open house will take place Sunday, Jan. 27.
