now ‘more open and inviting for shoppers’
Venice-based social service agency St. Joseph Center has moved its Thrift Store from 404 Lincoln Blvd., Venice, to 2545 Lincoln Blvd., just north of Washington Boulevard, Venice.
Founded in 1978, the Thrift Store is one of St. Joseph Center’s oldest services and, although originally founded on Rose Avenue, has been a fixture on Lincoln Boulevard for many years.
“Our new space is more open and inviting for shoppers,” said the store’s manager.
The Thrift Store currently offers used items for sale to the public and gives vouchers for free clothing and household goods to people in need.
The store provides opportunities to more than 400 volunteers who come to the center each year and it serves as a source of revenue to support programs that help homeless and low-income individuals work towards greater stability and self-sufficiency.
Open seven days a week, the store sells a variety of clothing, furniture and household goods. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
A special coupon, to be used for discounts on store items between now and January 31st, can be found on the Web site at www .stjosephctr.org/thrift_store.html
