The Santa Monica Commission on the Status of Women seeks someone to fill a vacancy on the commission, which advises the Santa Monica City Council and staff on programs and policies affecting women and girls in Santa Monica.

The nine-member commission seeks to eliminate inequality between the sexes in all areas of life, including employment, health, education, political life and law enforcement.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. every second Wednesday in the Ken Edwards Center.

The commission is currently conducting a work-life survey in an effort to assess how various employment environments affect women.
