Susan Aminoff, chair of the Los Angeles College Faculty Guild Joint Labor/Management Benefits Committee, has won a national award for leading her committee to do innovative work in collaborative labor-management relations.
She is also a candidate for the Santa Monica College board of trustees in the November election.
Aminoff and her committee, the Los Angeles Community College District and the Faculty Guild, were selected with five other teams nationwide to receive the Saturn/UAW (United Auto Workers) Partnership Award.
The award was established in 1997 and honors teams that demonstrate union and management collaboration.
Aminoff said the committee meets regularly with the Los Angeles Community College District to design employee health benefit plans, select vendors and determine an appropriate level of employee cost sharing.
She has chaired the committee for the past four years.
