Los Angeles police say they are searching for a man who allegedly robbed an 86-year-old woman in Westchester late last month, injuring her as he grabbed her purse.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. July 28, when the suspect followed the victim to her residence in Westchester, police said.

As the woman got out of her car parked in the garage, the suspect allegedly pulled her purse off her arm, causing injury, police said.

The suspect then ran from the garage to a waiting getaway car and sped away, police said.

He is described as an African American man, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 175-190 pounds and about 20-24 years old. The suspect has tattoos on the left side of his neck, left wrist and hand. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black jeans and blue and black tennis shoes.
