A man who worked as a security guard at the Shores apartments in Marina del Rey has been charged with murder in the fatal Dec. 30 shooting of another security guard at the building.

Byron Keith Street, 47, of Inglewood, was charged Wednesday with one count of murder and a special circumstances allegation that the crime was committed during the course of a burglary, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors also tacked on a first-degree residential burglary charge.

Street and his girlfriend, Ann Una Bailey, 23, of Inglewood were each charged with five counts of theft and other related offenses on Jan. 3.

Street, who is being held without bail, faces arraignment on the murder charge on Thursday at the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s Airport Branch.  Bailey remains in custody with bail set at $150,000.

Shooting victim Patrick Odoi-Kyene had previously suspended Street for bringing Bailey with him to work, according to a district attorney’s office statement.

Odoi-Kyene was found shot to death outside the complex at 4201 Via Marina at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 30, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators.
