Two suspects were arrested June 13 after they allegedly shot at undercover Los Angeles police officers in Westchester, police said.
The two undercover officers, who were not injured, were patrolling in an unmarked vehicle and stopped at a traffic light on Ramsgate Avenue, between Manchester Avenue and Interceptor Street at 1 p.m., when two suspects approached them in a car, LAPD officer Bruce Borihanh said.
The suspects, who are alleged gang members, asked the undercover officers where they were from and then opened fire, Borihanh said. The officers returned fire at the suspects, who were not hit and drove away, police said.
Following a short vehicle pursuit to 84th Street and Alverstone Avenue in Westchester, the officers took the suspects into custody without incident, Borihanh said.
