Santa Monica police are looking for one or more suspects who allegedly shot at a man from a vehicle in the Pico Neighborhood Sunday, July 23rd.

A Santa Monica Operation Safe Streets officer heard four shots fired at 9:42 p.m. in the area of the 2100 block of Pico Boulevard, police said.

As the information was broadcast, police dispatch received calls of shots fired from the area of 18th Street and Pico Boulevard.

An Operation Safe Streets supervisor saw a male wearing baggy clothing running westbound on Pico Boulevard.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the man was walking when the suspects’ vehicle pulled up and the occupants in the vehicle said something to the man, at which time he ran.

As the man ran, shots were reportedly fired but no one was injured, police said.

The pedestrian was not cooperative and gave limited information, police said.

The incident appears to be gang related, police said.

The suspects’ vehicle is described as a possible white mid-’90s Toyota Corolla.
