THE DEFINIENS PROJECT, a nonprofit organization of musicians who perform chamber music, will give a holiday music show in Venice December 18th.

The Definiens Project, a nonprofit organization including musical performers, will give a performance of holiday chamber music Friday, December 18th at the G2 Gallery, 1503 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.

Representatives of the Definiens Project say that the organization is committed to building new, diverse chamber music audiences through the innovative presentation of chamber music and interactive family programs. The Definiens Project is particularly committed to the presentation of new music by living and local composers, representatives said.

They have offered numerous composition competitions and commissioned many new chamber music works for performance.

The Definiens Project has performed at a range of venues including the Jazz Bakery, the Culver Hotel, Club Tropical, local art galleries, private homes, churches, libraries and coffee houses. These performances have developed into regular concert series in multiple communities in Southern California, including Culver City, Long Beach, South Pasadena, and West Los Angeles.

The December 18th concert will feature various arrangements of familiar holiday tunes, performed by Definiens Project musicians and arranged by local composers.

The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by music beginning at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

Donations at the door are appreciated and will directly support environmental charities.
