PAIR ALLEGEDLY STOLE TWO TVS FROM STORE
Officers were on patrol near a parking lot in the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28th, when they noticed two employees of a store chasing two suspects in the lot.
The employees alleged to police that the suspects had stolen two 15-inch LCD TVs valued at $250 each from the store.
Police arrested the male and female suspects and booked them in Santa Monica Jail for grand theft.
BOOKED FOR DAMAGING MOTEL ROOM, ASSAULT
A motel owner and manager in the 1100 block of Pico Boulevard alleged to police at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, November 29th, that one of the motel rooms had been vandalized by a person who was staying in the room.
The suspect had allegedly broken lamps, put candle wax over the walls and carpet and broken a television by smashing it on the ground.
The damage to the room was estimated at over $500.
When the suspect was approached by the motel owner and manager, she allegedly became argumentative and threatened to harm them.
The suspect then allegedly pointed a small knife at them and fled the location.
Officers called to the scene stopped the suspect at Lincoln and Pico Boulevards and she was later identified by the motel own- er and manager.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where she was booked for vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon.
ARRESTED FOR BREAKING INTO APARTMENT ROOM
Police were called to an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Exposition Boulevard at 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 29th, where a residential burglary had been reported.
The residents alleged to police that when they arrived home they noticed that someone had forced entry into the apartment by breaking a back window and ransacked the apartment sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Through further investigation and by talking with the residents, police were able to identify a female suspect.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for residential burglary.
ALLEGEDLY SPRAYED GRAFFITI ON BUILDINGS
Officers on patrol in the 1500 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, December 2nd, detained a suspect they allege had a spray-paint can and fresh spray paint on his hands.
When police tried to detain the suspect, he fled into an alley east of 15th Street.
Police eventually caught the suspect, who allegedly admitted to having just spray-painted several buildings in the area.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for vandalism.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING SWEATER FROM STORE
A loss prevention officer at a store in the 2900 block of Main Street alleged to police at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 6th, that a suspect entered the store, took a few items off the sales rack, including a lamb-hooded sweater valued at $365, and left without paying.
The suspect was detained outside the store and released to police, who arrested her and booked her in Santa Monica Jail for petty theft.
ARRESTED ON BEACH FOR HAVING STOLEN ITEMS
Officers on patrol in the 1500 block of the beach at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, December 5th, contacted two men who had been sleeping on the beach and were allegedly setting up camp on the beach in violation of the city municipal code.
After talking to the suspects, police noticed that they had several new items with them and when questioned about the items, their stories conflicted.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly in possession of stolen property, including a new computer, keyboard, TV and espresso machine.
Police arrested the two suspects and booked them in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property.
BOOKED FOR HITTING MAN WITH 40-OZ BOTTLE
Police were called to the 1600 block of Olympic Boulevard at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, December 3rd, where a victim was being treated by Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics.
The victim told officers that he was with a friend drinking beers when they eventually got into an argument because the victim would not give the suspect money.
The suspect then allegedly hit the victim over the head with a 40-ounce beer bottle and fled.
The victim received a laceration to the top of his head and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
A follow-up investigation was conducted and the suspect was arrested a few blocks from where he normally hangs out.
The suspect was booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN CELL PHONE, MARIJUANA
Police were called to a gas station in the 400 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, December 5th, where a suspect had allegedly refused to leave the property and caused a disturbance.
When the suspect realized the gas station attendant was calling police, he fled into an alley east of Fourth Street.
Officers went to the alley and located the suspect, who allegedly said he had outstanding warrants and a small amount of marijuana in his possession.
Police conducted a search and discovered that the suspect allegedly had a small plastic bag containing marijuana and marijuana cigarettes. He also allegedly had a cell phone that was later determined to be stolen.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana.
