ARRESTED FOR DAMAGING 13 VEHICLES ON STREET
Witnesses in the 500 block of Wilshire Boulevard alleged to police at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday, December 3rd, that a suspect who was walking eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard was vandalizing vehicles by breaking their windows and side-view mirrors.
The suspect allegedly damaged a total of 13 vehicles in the area.
Witnesses directed police to the location of the suspect, who was arrested and booked for felony vandalism.
CYCLIST BOOKED FOR HAVING STOLEN ITEMS
A police officer on patrol in the 2300 block of Ocean Avenue at 2:28 a.m. Friday, December 5th, attempted to stop a cyclist who was riding at night without lights on the bicycle.
The cyclist allegedly refused to stop and continued to ride. The officer followed the suspect and after a short foot pursuit, he detained the suspect and determined that he was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was arrested and while he was at the jail, police found that he was also allegedly in possession of jewelry that was possibly stolen.
The suspect was booked for resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property, and parole violation.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING CLOTHING FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, December 7th, where a theft was reported.
Loss prevention agents alleged that a suspect took a couple of blouses, put them in her purse and left without paying. The agents detained the suspect outside and found that she was also allegedly in possession of other stolen clothes from the store.
The items were valued at $171.47.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her for burglary.
MAN ALLEGEDLY STOLE
BALLOON FROM VENDOR
A street vendor in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade alleged to police at 1:40 p.m. Monday, December 8th, that a suspect grabbed an inflated balloon and when the vendor asked him to stop, the suspect walked away with the balloon.
The vendor directed police to the location of the suspect, who was arrested and booked for petty theft.
ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED MAN AT MOTEL ROOM
Police were called to a motel in the 800 block of Grant Street at 2:38 p.m. Monday, December 8th, regarding an assault and battery investigation.
A man told police that after he asked a transient, who was an acquaintance, to leave the motel room, the suspect allegedly punched the man several times in the face and fled.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police located the suspect in an alley near the motel, arrested him and booked him for felony battery and probation violation.
ARRESTED AFTER TRYING TO PULL KNIFE ON POLICE
Witnesses alleged to police at 1:15 p.m. Monday, December 8th, that a man who was standing at Fourth Street and Wilshire Boulevard was attempting to fight everyone around him.
When police approached the suspect, he allegedly walked toward them in an aggressive manner and attempted to remove a knife from his pocket. The suspect did not comply with police orders and was Tasered.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, probation violation and for having an outstanding warrant.
ARRESTED FOR USING CHAIR TO BREAK DOOR
A woman at a building in the 1900 block of Pico Boulevard told police at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, December 9th, that a suspect, who claimed to have forgotten his key, was banging on the front door of the building.
Due to the suspect’s behavior, the woman called police. The suspect then allegedly broke the front door of the building with a chair before police arrived.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for felony vandalism, probation violation and for having an outstanding warrant.
BOOKED FOR NOT PAYING RESTAURANT FOOD BILLS
A manager of a restaurant in the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard alleged to police at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday, December 10th, that a suspect who ate at the restaurant attempted to pay a $21.29 bill using a debit card that had an empty account.
The suspect also allegedly did not pay an $11.28 bill at the restaurant two days prior.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for defrauding an innkeeper and for having an outstanding warrant.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING PERFUME, ROBE AT STORE
Loss prevention agents at a store in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue alleged to police at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday, December 10th, that a suspect took several bottles of perfume, concealed them in a shopping bag and left without paying.
The agents detained the suspect outside and found that she was also allegedly in possession of a robe from the store. The items were valued at $666.10.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her for commercial burglary and theft with a prior conviction.
