MAN ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO CARJACK VEHICLE
Police were called to the area of 20th Street and Delaware Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday, June 26th, where a hit-and-run accident was reported.
When officers arrived, they saw a suspect on the roof of a car allegedly banging on the roof in an attempt to enter the car, which was in the number-one lane of the street.
As officers approached the vehicle, the suspect allegedly yelled, “They’re trying to get me, help me.”
During the investigation, officers determined that the suspect was allegedly attempting to carjack the vehicle and the vehicle owner did not unlock the doors due to fear of theft.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for attempted carjacking and parole violation.
ARRESTED FOR WAVING MEAT CLEAVER AT BOSS
Police were called to a restaurant in the 1900 block of Lincoln Boulevard at 1:36 p.m. Thursday, June 29th, where an assault with a deadly weapon had been reported.
The owner of the restaurant alleged to officers that his cook, who was angry over his paycheck, waved a meat cleaver at him in a threatening manner.
The suspect was arrested and booked in Santa Monica Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING MAN, STEALING HIS CASH
A man in the 1700 block of Ocean Front Walk told police at 5:40 p.m. Friday, June 30th, that while he was walking, two suspects allegedly approached him, kicked and punched him and stole $30.
The suspects were arrested and taken to Santa Monica Jail, where they were booked for strong-arm robbery.
