ALLEGEDLY FLICKED LIT CIGARETTE AT OFFICER
Police were called to the 700 block of Broadway at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, July 10th, regarding a report on an intoxicated person in the area.
When officers arrived they saw a woman sitting on the sidewalk with an open can of beer in front of her. After an officer picked up the can, the suspect allegedly flicked a lit cigarette at the officer, hitting his pants.
The suspect was arrested and booked for battery on a police officer, public intoxication, possession of an open alcohol container and probation violation.
BOOKED FOR POSSESSING SHOPPING CART, CRATE
A park ranger was in the 1600 block of Main Street at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 10th, when he saw a suspect who was in possession of a shopping cart and milk crate and was smoking at a bus stop.
When the ranger contacted the suspect, he allegedly flicked a lit cigarette onto the roadway.
The suspect, who was not in possession of valid identification, was arrested and booked for throwing a lit cigarette onto the roadway, smoking at a bus stop, and illegal possession of a shopping cart and milk crate.
ALLEGEDLY HAD STOLEN DEBIT CARD IN VEHICLE
Officers on patrol in the area of Ocean Avenue and Strand Street at 5:46 p.m. Thursday, July 10th, stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
Police determined that the driver of the vehicle was on parole and after searching the vehicle, they determined that he was allegedly in possession of another person’s debit card and pin number.
The driver was arrested and booked for fraudulent use of a debit card and parole violation.

PAYING LARGE BAR TAB
The owner of a restaurant in the 2400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard alleged to police at 7:20 p.m. Friday, July 11th, that a suspect had amassed a $112 bar bill and tried to leave without paying when the waitress was not looking.
The owner told police which direction the suspect headed and he was located several blocks away.
The suspect was arrested and booked for defrauding an innkeeper and probation violation.
MANAGER BOOKED FOR STEALING FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, July 8th, where a loss prevention officer had detained a store manager for theft.
The loss prevention officer told police that he detained the manager after reviewing security footage of her allegedly stealing a store deposit bag containing $2,200 in cash.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her for grand theft.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING SWEATERS FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 2900 block of Main Street at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th, where a store employee had detained a suspect who allegedly had taken clothes into a changing room, concealed the items in a large bag and left without paying.
The suspect was detained outside the store and was found to be in possession of sweatshirts and sweaters valued at $185.
Police arrested the suspect and booked her for petty theft.
DRIVER BOOKED FOR STEALING PACKAGE
Police were called to a building in the 1700 block of Stanford Street at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 16th, where a loss prevention officer had detained a delivery driver for theft.
The loss prevention officer told police that he detained the driver after reviewing security footage of him allegedly taking a package containing a cell phone. The driver may have been responsible for other thefts of packages at the building.
Police arrested the suspect and booked him for grand theft.
