ALLEGEDLY THREATENED EMPLOYEE WITH GLASS
Police were called to a coffee shop in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16th, where employees told them that a female suspect entered the shop and became disruptive.
The suspect allegedly grabbed for the tip jar made of fiberglass and when an employee tried to stop her, the jar fell and broke into pieces.
The suspect then allegedly picked up a fiberglass piece and pointed it at the employee, threatening to cut her. The employee went to notify an officer on the Promenade but the suspect had already fled.
No money was taken from the jar.
Police detained the suspect a block away, arrested her and booked her for assault with a deadly weapon.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DAMAGING VEHICLES
Police were called to the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16th, where witnesses said they saw a female suspect walking along Ocean Avenue who allegedly banged on the hood of a parked car, denting the hood and broke off the side-view mirror of another parked car.
The damage to the vehicles was estimated at $400.
Police detained the suspect a couple of blocks away, arrested her and booked her for felony vandalism.
ALLEGEDLY DROVE AT MAN, STRUCK VEHICLE
A man in the 1600 block of Cloverfield Boulevard told police at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, April 13th, that he was driving his car in the parking lot of a supermarket when the driver of a vehicle in front of him stopped and got out to talk to someone.
When the man honked his horn to notify the driver to move, they began to argue. The driver then got back in his vehicle and allegedly drove toward the man, missing him but striking the door of his vehicle, and drove off.
An alert on the suspect’s vehicle was sent out to local law enforcement agencies and Los Angeles Police Department officers detained the suspect two days later.
The suspect was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and hit-and-run.
ARRESTED FOR CUTTING MAN WITH BUTTER KNIFE
A man in the 1100 block of Fifth Street told police at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, April 12th, that he was inside his apartment when another tenant came inside and they began to argue.
The two then began to fight, at which point the suspect allegedly cut the man in the neck with a butter knife and fled. The man called police and was taken to a local hospital, where he received stitches for the wound.
When the suspect returned to the complex later in the evening, police arrested him and booked him for assault with a deadly weapon.
ARRESTED FOR STEALING COSMETICS FROM STORE
Police were called to a store in the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12th, where store employees alleged that two suspects entered the store carrying a shopping bag from another store, filled the bags with several items from the display cases and left without paying.
The suspects were detained outside by store security personnel. One suspect was allegedly found to have $392 worth of items and the other suspect had $209 worth of items.
The two suspects were arrested and booked for commercial burglary.
ALLEGEDLY THREATENED TO CUT MAN WITH KNIFE
A man in the 1800 block of Seventh Street told police at 2 a.m. Saturday, April 12th, that he was at his apartment complex with some friends when he got into an argument with one of them.
The two then began to fight in an alley, at which point the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife, threatened to cut the man and then fled.
After the fight, the man noticed that the right rear window of his car was broken out and called police.
Officers detained the suspect in the area of Lincoln Boulevard and Machado Street, arrested him and booked him for brandishing a weapon and vandalism.
2 BOOKED FOR KICKING MAN ON THE GROUND
Officers were in the 800 block of Broadway at 3:10 a.m. Friday, April 11th, when they were flagged down by witnesses who notified them of a fight.
Officers went to the scene, where they saw a victim lying on the ground and bleeding from his face. Two suspects had allegedly kicked and beat the victim while he was on the ground.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the two suspects and booked them for assault with a deadly weapon.
